Foods That Speed Up Metabolism – Veggies And How To Eat Them!
By Dan BeckwithPicture this…
Of all the foods that speed up metabolism – which we feel as increased energy – vegetables are tastiest, good for you and fairly low in cost. But then, you already knew that.
You’ve been trying to be good. You want more healthy foods and foods that speed up metabolism so you eat loads of vegetables at every meal. But, you still don’t seem to have the energy to make it through the day.
After putting in a tough day at work, you don’t feel like doing anything but depositing yourself in front of the television and taking it easy until bedtime.
In the morning when the alarm goes off – and after pounding on the snooze button as often as you can, you finally drag yourself out of bed. You aren’t rested at ALL – it feels like you just ran a marathon! As ALWAYS, the coffee pot is your first destination.
You could be dragging because you aren’t getting the proper nutrition. You can stop blaming your bed! It could be your veggies. Foods that speed up metabolism and provide the right balance of vitamins and minerals will give you tons of energy- if eaten correctly. Here’s a possible culprit – vitamins are water soluble.
We fix our meals, happily cooking our vegetables – usually in boiling water! This means we’re dissolving the nutrients and literally pouring them out! By the time we’re finished, our meal has virtually no nutritional value left!
Guess what? Most vegetables can be eaten raw. Plus, they usually taste better that way! When given the opportunity, always opt for raw.
There are a lot of benefits to eating them raw…
First, you stop throwing out all the nutrients! You are likely to notice an increase in energy almost immediately. Your general feelings of well being will get a boost as well.
Second, for great taste, nothing beats eating your veggies raw!
Third, you save on having to clean up the cooking utensils.
Fourth, families can be a little nonsupporting at times so you can get back at them! Loudly biting into and chewing a stalk of celery or a nice crisp carrot can interrupt conversations, evaporate trains of thought and if done properly can drive you family crazy! Just don’t start laughing so hard you choke. (I’ve always thought maturity was overrated.)
Fifth, you get a lot of good roughage and fiber by eating your veggies raw.
Don’t forget, they taste better too!
Here is your next project… Eat at least one vegetable at every meal, raw.
Be sure to thoroughly clean them before eating. They DO have chemical and pesticide residues. Whenever possible, try to buy organic, it will cut out the pesticides and they’re healthier.
The average diet doesn’t provide all the nutrients we need, so if you don’t take a daily vitamin supplement, it would probably be a good idea to start.
As you start eating healthier foods that speed up metabolism, your food will provide more of the nutrients you need. You shouldn’t stop taking vitamins, but at least you won’t need them so desperately.
Start eating your veggies raw and soon you will be one of those annoying people who bound out of bed in the morning raring to go and full of energy.
