Burning calories really seems to be one of the buzzwords, at least with people who wish to lose some weight. Critically though, people must understand that losing calories entirely depends on the rate of metabolism.

Genetics contribute to this, but anyways, you will find that men burn calories faster than women. Age, gender or genetics ” These are things out of our control. And thus, attributing this as crucial factors for your metabolic activities could be a mistake at best. Remember, you dont need to do anything special for a good rate of metabolism.

That being said, you will find that a lot of calories can be burned without you even doing anything at all.

While you are just resting and not doing anything, you could end up burning 6 calories daily. Maybe small, but when you add these up, it counts to something big.

Some studies have revealed that drinking 8 glasses of water has helped a lot of people keep track of their metabolic activities.

For example, there is a study that revealed that consumption of 8 glasses of water by an adult allowed him to burn calories faster than an adult who did just the opposite.

Eating large meals may be filling for your stomach, but not that good for your metabolic activities. In doing so, you are giving chances for your body to slow down the metabolic activities.

Preferably eat meals in short spurts, like having a small meal once every 2 hours. In doing so, you will ensure that metabolism cycle in your body keeps running all the time. There is no better supplement than adding some spice to your food.

Eating food devoid of spices may go soft on your intestines, but it certainly does not help the metabolic activities. Include some green chilly in your diet, and you will see a certain hike in your metabolic activities. One of the main reasons for this is that these spices do have some chemical ingredient in them that simulates metabolic activities.

The one advice you would possibly get from all quarters of the medical fraternity is to consume as many proteins as possible. Proteins, as opposed to carbs and fats, can be digested rather easily, and in fact help the body burn more calories. Foods like eggs, liver, fish etc should constitute a major element of your diet.

Different foods and drinks do have some amount of impact on the rate of metabolism, but the impact is considerably less as compared to what you could do by exercising on a regular basis.

Build your muscles and stay active throughout ” This will have an excellent effect on the calorie burning effect of your body. Remember the intake of foods and drinks, and in certain quantities may not have a significant impact on how much calories the body is able to burn.
